Violence is the driver of civillisations
We were only civilised relatively recently, we were mainly nomadic animals with no real set structure. One needs to ask ourselves, many humans today struggle with getting to grips with the idea of violence, the idea of killing something or someone for the sake of it. So how did these early humans/our ancestors do it? Will simply put their brains had adapted to seek out cruelty. They needed to be cruel to something, and that something was animals or our enemies. So how did we get tamed? Was it that we one day decided to put aside our differences and stop fighting each other and work together? No.
A race of superior people came, these people were able to conquer us and "civilise" (enslave) us. No longer were the days where we hunted and slept wherever, now we had certain sleeping areas, now we had laws to obey. And so humanity has had it's first encounter with civilisation under slavery.
But what about the need for cruelty? Where did that go?
The slaves were now no longer able to enact their cruelty upon others, instead they had to experience the cruelty of their masters who would often abuse them. The slaves thus suffered from the bad conscience. The bad conscience being when one is deprived of their right to inflict cruelty, so instead they turn that cruelty upon themselves. We engaged in self harm and thus created religion as a means to satisfy our need for cruelty. Ask yourselves why do major religions ban anything fun? Why do they aim to make the lives of their followers tougher than is needed? It's so that the need for cruelty of these people is satisfied, they are now being cruel to themselves.
But I am not a cruel person or seek violence
Cruelty and the seeking of violence is natural, our laws are based on it. Even the most primitive of laws. If we were cavemen and you stole my food, what would happen to you? You'd be beaten with a rock - a form of violence would occur -> cruelty. Even though the food will not come back, you will still be subjected to violence. Like a law of exchange/transaction, you get my food, I get to hurt you. Violence has always been like this, even today we see the same thing. For example thieves are sent to jail, where they will face some level of cruelty/punishment (jail isn't a nice place), even though the thief is in jail, the person who was robbed is still missing their item. But we call this justice anyways because the need for cruelty has been satisfied.
Now onto you
You reading this are most likely athiest, not very religious or somewhat comfortable in life with your MAJOR issue being looks. This entire "looks issue" is just a way for you to punish yourself/engage in the self harm because your RIGHT TO INFLICT CRUELTY is being stunted by society, you cannot just torture an animal or kill someone for fun like you could before due to society. What was once a useful adaptation for our ancestors is now hindering us, so you engage in the self harm/self hatred of the looks issue. You create these rules for yourselves e.g. I will not fap, I will not smoke, I will not do xyz, in a bid to improve your looks. But the truth is you seek the restriction/rules you want to be enslaved in someway, because at least you are able to inflict some cruelty - albeit on yourself.
You need to find someway to inflict cruelty upon others in order to free yourself and cure your bad conscience. Maybe pick up a boxing class or something?
