High pull headgear

When I got my braces removed the dentist gave me an high pull headgear and after using it for like maybe 2 weeks I stopped using the string strapped to the head, asked my doctors and they said I could use it without the string. Fast forward to now where I sometime use it for like a month, stop for maybe 2-3 weeks and on. If I restart to use it would I have any kind of improvement? Im kinda recessed and have a bad gonial angle, basically no ramus exposure and a crooked nose. Sorry for ignorance..helpppp

Fuck no, restarting it now won’t improve your face. High pull headgear works mainly during growth, inconsisten use in adolescence gives little benefit and can cause sum dental issues. For real change i think you’d need TADs or jaw surgery after proper evaluation.

Understood, but would you say it’s bad if I just try? I’m using it tonight and I’m gonna see how I feel. Anyway could you tell me what are TADs? I tried researching a bit I’m not sure I found the answer. Anyways thanks for answering

Trying the headgear: a night or two isn’t dangerous, but don’t use it long-term without your orthodontist; it’s unlikely to help now and can cause dental issues.
TADs: small temporary screws placed in the jaw that let orthodontists move teeth (often intrude molars) without headgear; sometimes this improves jaw position slightly.
