Some stuff from American pop culture is pretty much unknown in Europe - no one cares about baseball or American football for example, and for its players. Basketball is a little more popular though and most Europeans could probably name a few top NBA players.
Many TV personalities, announcers, hosts, etc. aren't very known since people mostly watch local TV stations, Oprah for example wasn't recognized in Switzerland in an fancy store, and threw a fit, blaming the lack of special treatment on 'racism'.
Stand up comedians are known only if they also have a film career or have appeared in TV shows or sitcoms. Pete Davidson is mostly famous for SNL, but that's not a show popular in Europe, its humor is too American, too local, doesn't translate well at all to foreign audiences.
