For me, it just ruined me socially. Not only did it separate me from the norm and not being in the normal classes, but it also forced me to play a character which i thought would attract more friends/increase social presence

thanks for the compliment but you're confusing inhibition with IQ
Inhibition can easily correlate with intelligence due to how those with high IQs are treated during their formative years

I agree 10000%, imo the sweet spot for IQ is 115-120 high enough to achieve success under normie structures but not high enough to see past it. Anything more is directly proportional to a worse quality of life overall

yea but co-relation isn't causation.
High IQ people self report more crimes in studies & lower IQ people are caught committing crimes cuz they just can't get away with it as easily.
It's just cope that "muh because of IQ don't relate with people" when in reality it should only make it more easy for you to look for patterns n social ques. No you're not a different sentience level creature surrounded by subhumans.
Political beliefs don't mean shit & you can easily take in account normie mental framework after talking to like 10 people in an institution.

Also It gives you status through Academics n other stuff & make it easy for you to climb up economically & surround yourself with Higher Sentient people.

Also 120-30 is ideal is another cope. 160 IQ people get admired & build a great community.

115 is enough to do/become anything there is in life. Med-school, Engineering, anything u want is easy at this IQ. So yeah it's all you would ever want to have.

I think some research came out a while ago to suggest that most financially successful people are actually pretty stupid, I don't think I'm remarkably intelligent, but just enough to feel smarter than most people in most situations, it can get a little lonely and depressing (mainly because of all the internalized sense of superiority that isn't even there). Once you realize that retards will probably become billionaires because they're not smart enough to outweigh risks and benefits so they get more chances of being successful because of a risky venture or because they have less social inhibitions, it gets sad.

Except it applies to every single task not just academics, Even in sports, video games IQ matters the most at start before minor biomechanics take over at the top. nerd & high IQ are different things.
I can't see a Situation where IQ is a disadvantage, we might move through wrong beliefs quickly but that doesn't mean oofy doofies know that. just don't bring up high IQ graphs & studies in daily conversations, blend in.

Not at all, this is the study in question
1752833490238

This study was conducted in Sweden and took data from over 59k participants. While IQ level does correlate to higher wages on average, this only happens up to a certain point, where ironically the opposite thing happens. Top earners in the study were actually found to have lower IQ levels than the people of incomes directly below them.

Smart people can find high paying jobs and fulfilling careers, hence why they earn more money than dumber people on average, but when we're speaking about TOP EARNERS (as in millionaires and billionaires) we find that at best they're average or below average in attractiveness.

The proposed reason behind this phenomenon comes down to risk-taking behavior, intelligent people can go to good colleges, get good jobs and find careers where they earn good and are relatively satisfied, so they don't have any reasons on average to leave that live and go for ventures that are more likely to generate huge amounts of wealth.

On the opposite side dumb people do not get these chances are typically at lower income levels or just have a harder time weighing in the risk to reward ratio, so they're most likely to start business ventures or make risky ventures. This doesn't always work, but it sometimes does!

This creates a self-fulfilling prophecy, where mostly dumber people get filthy rich. So it's not that intelligent people make less money on average (this is obviously not true, sorry if my comment didn't make that clear), but it's true that intelligent have a statistically harder time making it into the top earner spots (top 1%), usually dominated by investors and business owners who're less intelligent.

It's generational wealth at play. IQ isn't highly heritable like height, it regresses towards mean while High IQ parents produce HIGH IQ children it goes like:
Let's say you & your wife have average IQ of 150 & thus you're rich, Your child is most likely to be 130 IQ but he will ineheret your resources, connections & money. That's why rich people now are not Giga High IQ but their ancestors were.

All First gen (not saying their parents were middle class) Top Billionaire's have shown High IQ feats & their academic records confirm it.

Except more than 70% Giga rich people are from top Universities in their country.
Some drop in offspring's IQ could also be attributed to rich guy marrying BIMBO model.

Researchers wouldn't have come up with that conclusion without accounting for this. And, tell me it doesn't make sense?
  • Intelligent people often choose stable, prestigious, well-paying careers (law, medicine, academia, engineering, etc.), but they’re also more risk-averse since they perceive the huge risks of entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Meanwhile, some less intelligent or “average” people might underestimate risks or have fewer stable career alternatives, so they gamble more with business ventures. Most fail, but the small fraction that succeeds ends up in the ultra-rich category.
While yeah, a lot of top billionaires and tech giants are super fucking smarts, they're a minority even among millionaires. It is true that top earners have lower averages IQ, this is not an opinion, it's a measured fact.

This study is obviously relatively skewed because of various factors, first it's Sweden, for every 1000 people there are 20 entrepreneurial ventures, while in the US for example it's only 5 per 20 people, so by nature Sweden is more entrepreneurial, so there are more chances of people getting into the top 1% of earners with a much larger income gap. Also, there's the low existence of high IQ people, A highly intelligent person has better odds of being success in business, but statistically speaking, they're going to fail anyway, and since there are less highly intelligent people than people of average intelligence, there are going to be more successful businesses ran by average intelligence people than highly intelligent.

So the combination of overthinking the rewards of a normal high-paying career vs the potential high-reward but high-risk nature of entrepreneurial ventures, on top of statistically unlikeliness of business success and the reduced probability of a smart person trying to do another business venture if the first one fails, stacks the odds against smart people to reach the top 1% of income in majority of countries, and therefore making that the majority of high-income earners that actually average or below average intelligence.

This creates an inverse-U relationship where the relationship for IQ in the very top earners (millionaires/billionaires) can invert or weaken, leading to the findings of this and many other large-scale studies.

Most Fortune 500 CEOs are from top colleges, but I think you have a skewed view of the situation, the only ventures that can get you into a top 1% earning income doesn't require you to make the next Facebook or manage the next massive tech startup, in fact, the majority of millionaires and billionaires don't even come from tech. If we're speaking about fields where intelligence is required, like tech, then yeah, IQ plays a role, but if we're speaking about earning in the top 1% of the salaries in the country then you underestimate how low the bar is.

A business doesn't need to get that large before it can generate enough profit to put the owner in the top % of earners. Plus, the implication here is kinda that most smart people can create an Amazon, Apple, Facebook or Microsoft, which is just not realistic, this is why the average dumb-dumb has more of a shot of making it up there. They may not reach Zuckerberg-level wealth, but they can still surpass the income of the average “smarter” person, which is more realistic and what statistics show.

So again, becoming a top earner is much statistically easier if you're dumber than if you were smarter, as far as I know there are no studies comparing the relationship between IQ and income among the top 1% themselves, so there's no hard data to tell for sure if even among that group the same rule still applies or if it doesn't, I would agree with you that it does here though. But that aside, yes, dumb people can make it much easier into the 1% of wealth in almost all situations at the very top end of the income distribution.

In other words, among millionaires/billionaires, average IQ is not higher than among upper-middle-class professionals, where IQ does correlate with higher earning

and really this is good, we may not have a fair shot of becoming mega rich millionaires and billionaires, but at least we know we have good odds of living a comfortable upper-middle class life, which is, realistic, I guess.

I think it's kind of way too convenient for argument to speculate about bad research practices, instead of just maybe accepting that the research was well conducted and that the study conclusions are within reason.

We have no reason to believe this study was not well-conducted or that they were intentionally or unintentionally skewing the results in a certain direction, reading it through it has all the basic requirements for a good and sound study, you may not like the conclusions, hell even I would like for the study to say that we're 1000% more likely to become millionaires, but we cannot fight against clear trends. This just how reality is and no amount of intellectualizing will undermine the results

Yes, I'm not denying that smart people have good odds at business maybe even better than dumber people as I suggest, in theory THIS SHOULD WORK! But let's ignore the theoretical frameworks for a second and focus on what we see happening in studies, simply at some point past the mark of 120 IQ, the correlation between IQ and financial success just goes out the window. There's indeed a solid relationship to IQ and wealth to a point, but that breaks once we reach top income levels, where the majority of highly wealthy people actually have lower average IQ COMPARATIVELY to the "higher IQ people" making lower wages at the upper-middle class level.

It doesn't matter if IQ makes you more productive a smarter investor or all that, if in practice high IQ people aren't using those tools and are obviously being outperformed. Most of them become stagnant, because while you don't need to quit your job to start a financial venture, that's definitely more complicated than just working more hours or spending extra time and effort into a business that is not guaranteed to succeed.

So even if rich people theoretically have all these massive advantages, this just isn't what we see replicated in a real world context, as shown by a few massive scale studies, not only this one from Sweden, I'm also aware of another one from Scandinavia which I didn't read, but I'm aware came to the same conclusions.

lower than 100? hell nah, or am I misunderstanding something? give source
That was exaggerated, sorry lol. Not below average in the purest sense, but below the average of the of people with higher IQs at lower income ranges, not below average in the purest sense, just comparatively, that's a better way of putting it.

It will obviously inevitably weaken & invert simply because of regression of IQ toward 100

Most business are trash.
Except they are not, these people do have absurdly high salaries, but in Sweden, or many first world countries that's not enough to get you into the top 1% of earners. Of course some smart people, software engineers and doctors do make it there, but on average, it's all business owners and that's not too crazy to think about, a successful business just has that much more exponential growth.

You're assuming that high IQ always translates into action (starting a business, investing, etc.), which is often not true in real-world behavior. And this is why we see these results, so even if we have all of these great options to find success, smart people are on average less likely to utilize them.

That can mainly be because wealth at those levels requires risk-taking, luck and connections, again, most high IQ people are smart enough to realize this, so who in their right mind would trade a very well paid job as a surgeon to try and start a business that will take away from their career? Some people might, but do you think MOST smart people will? As opposed to dumb people, who to begin with likely don't have a high beneficial career, therefore have "less to lose" by jumping into ventures, and precisely because of their lower rational and logical skills tend to weigh less factors like luck or connections translating into more risk-taking behavior.

Looking it at that point of view, and analyzing what the trends and research outcome show, it's pretty clear why does this occur. So even if we have greater changes than the average, if we just aren't using them, it is completely correct to claim that dumb people have better odds of becoming reaching the top 1% of income in most people, because that's exactly what happens! And even though most dumb people fail, the small % who succeed skew the wealth/IQ distribution, and still reach this top earnings with a higher likelihood than most intelligent people.

We should observe actual observed outcomes, not just what “should” happen in theory for this answer

it's very hard to change your personality as an adult, if not impossible.
It’s virtually impossible to deny- people need to understand that anything related to quality of life is largely determined by genetics. Even external influencing factors ultimately trace back to some inherent trait.

That said, a high IQ is definitely a plus. The quality of life associated with higher intelligence is well documented, and there’s a clear, positive correlation between IQ and overall happiness.
On average, individuals with higher IQs also tend to be more socially competent. Of course, you can’t make generalizations, but the trend is noticeable.

It's just that researchers can't really exclude these variables. They could exclude Oil prince & the one who got company in inheritance but most rich people get indirect advantages & love claiming self-made anyways. Media constantly calls Elon & Bill gates self-made because they technically are but actually aren't. How will they look for that variable anyways? If a Law firm owner takes his friend's son in his firm & he gets promotions, would he claim talent & hardwork or say that he got an advantage because of family connections?
even 70% in forbes larp Self-Made :lul:

wealth at those levels requires risk-taking, luck and connections, again, most high IQ people are smart enough to realize this, so who in their right mind would trade a very well paid job as a surgeon to try and start a business that will take away from their career? Some people might, but do you think MOST smart people will? As opposed to dumb people, who to begin with likely don't have a high beneficial career, therefore have "less to lose" by jumping into ventures, and precisely because of their lower rational and logical skills tend to weigh less factors like luck or connections translating into more risk-taking behavior.
you think low IQ people are that stupid & monkey-like?
There's no such thing as "nothing to lose" when you're getting food, electricity, internet, some luxuries, shelter & sex. People adjust to their life quality.
Success is relative & they surround themselves with same status people, there isn't enough stimulus to throw it all away.
Risk taking has to do with brain-wiring than financial situation unless you're in super extreme situation.

"who in their right mind would trade a very well paid job as a surgeon to try and start a business that will take away from their career?"
In college everybody has nothing to lose & out of college even low earners earn more than they could before, because of climbing the ladder in their jobs. Nobody has "nothing to lose" scenario unless you're living of well-fare.
They at max will try some business by looking at social media, fail & quit trying.

nobody has infinite energy, time & hope to keep trying something that doesn't produce results. They'll just overtime or chill Instead.
You're thinking as if they hate their lives & are suicidal or something which is just false.

High IQ on's don't need to quit their jobs to start a business as I said
16 hours of 90 IQ guy get overshadowed by 4 hours of 130 IQ guy. That's without counting resources & awareness.
Also these people will get a lot more opportunities & have lot more resources to start a business.

"The top 1 per cent even score slightly worse on cognitive ability than those in the income strata right below them"
Ask yourself why slightly from those in the income strata below them?
They are talking about 110-120 IQ people here not dumb low lifers with nothing to lose.
These aren't the one's in nothing to lose scenario.

First gen 130 IQ people build connections & resources then their offsprings get 120 IQ & benefits.

Exactly what I wanted to say

Frankly, you’ve made a very good and logically sound argument that I honestly don’t have a counter for, lmao. That said, I still find it difficult to set aside the weight of the statistical findings from various studies, even if the logic appears airtight on paper, you just can't set ignore the empiral evidence with pure reasoning along, I understand your point variables that unfair skew the results, but I personally chosoe to believe that due to the nature of the study these were taken into account, the implication from the conditions and the population data is that most of these people had to at least be self-made.

Truthfully, the study never details any of this, so it could be that you're right, but there's also no confirmation for it. But I will admit it, you beat me lol, I have no way to reply to any of this :y'all:
