You never wonder why you see couples at the office or at school where the guy is considered unattractive while the girl is much prettier and “deserves someone better”?

If you’ve never noticed this, you probably never go outside, ngl.

Today, I’ll explain why this happens based on how I see it.

I:FAMILIARITY BREEDS COMFORT

Seeing someone over and over again naturally creates familiarity and comfort between both sides.
You start sharing personal things, working on projects together, talking about your lives, etc. Eventually, it can lead to something as simple as going for a coffee or having a “work dinner,” which can gradually develop into something deeper.



II:SUBCONSIOUS PROCEEDING

Repeated daily contact with someone can change how your brain perceives them.
The more you interact with a person, the more familiar they become, and that familiarity can make you focus less on their flaws and more on what makes them unique or different.
Sometimes, things you initially found unattractive can eventually become part of what you find charming about them.



IIIERSONALITY START TAKING THE LEAD

Once familiarity is established, personality becomes much more important.
As a man, you naturally have more opportunities to show your personality, maturity, reliability, humor, and how you treat her.
She might start thinking:
“He works with me, he helps me, he understands me, and I feel comfortable around him.”
At that point, attraction isn’t necessarily about who looks the best on paper anymore. Emotional connection and compatibility can start taking the lead.

Back in high school, I was fat as hell, but I still managed to get girls interested in me sometimes they were even the ones initiating.
Looking back, I think one of the biggest reasons was that I would focus on one girl, talk to her every day about random stuff, classes, and things I didn’t even care that much about.
Eventually, I got her contact, we became more comfortable with each other, and from there, I started making my move.
So yeah, sometimes the guy who looks “worse” on paper ends up with the girl who looks “out of his league.”
Familiarity + proximity + personality + emotional connection can completely change how attraction develops.
