Why do you and other Hindus think Vedas are so important when they go against most practices of Modern Hindus.

They were beef eating. They buried their dead. They belief in after life instead of samsaras. Among many other things.

They were beef eating. They buried their dead. They belief in after life instead of samsaras. Among many other things.

1) Because Vedas are revelation and the Rishis who revealed them would go to author Puranas

2) because all the major Gods including Puranic Gods are mentioned in the Vedas

3) Puranas and contemporary Hinduism also speak of and believe in Heaven and Hell

4) Upanishads which are part of the foundational texts of Hinduism are a part of the Vedas

5) reading verses of the Rig Veda is part of daily spiritual practice
