About to be 21Insane how quickly time passes once you hit your 20's, there is basically no difference in 23 (my age) and 27, i will be the second one tomorrow and wont even notice 4 years have passed
You should live in the moment, geriatric fossilcels are right, ruminating about past or future is futile, your brain can only process the moment and only store past experiences as fleeting memories.About to be 21![]()
I saw a tiktok of a japanese man saying living in the moment is the way and indeed it is. Life is short live fast die hardYou should live in the moment, geriatric fossilcels are right, ruminating about past or future is futile, your brain can only process the moment and only store past experiences as fleeting memories.

Reminder i was barely a 18yo skinny teencel and was still in highschool when i first started lurking on this forum, and now im already a grown adult at 23, truly mind-boggling and reality shattering when i realize this fact, somehow like i had this subconscious delusion that I will forever be young af and there is so much time when in reality the past 3 years have been just a long blurry memoryI saw a tiktok of a japanese man saying living in the moment is the way and indeed it is. It starts going downhill once you turn 20 and your teens officially end, then 21 will come fast and 22 will come even faster and you will not even realize this, its very disturbing. Im not even talking about looks or whaever, but about pure mortality, even if you never physically age the fact that we all are guaranteed to experience end of life is brutalI’m 19

They say your perception of time speeds up with age, with days seemingly last for eternity when you’re a child. It’s def true tbh. Each passing year makes a smaller percentage of your life.Reminder i was barely a 18yo skinny teencel and was still in highschool when i first started lurking on this forum, and now im already a grown adult at 23, truly mind-boggling and reality shattering when i realize this fact, somehow like i had this subconscious delusion that I will forever be young af and there is so much time when in reality the past 3 years have been just a long blurry memory
Thats not the entire reason, its just used a simple explanation for people to kinda get the gist of it. What happens actually is your brain simply developing, a baby sees life as an LSD trip according to theoretical research, and as you age your brain becomes more and more reliable, secure and with tighter connections, with this ending around 25 on average for people when you get a finalized rigid adult brain. Ignore years for this, think about everything almost you did/experienced as a 12-13yo vs when you eventually become 23, its night and day in significance.They say your perception of time speeds up with age, with days seemingly last for eternity when you’re a child. And becoming 40 is hard for people because you know you are no longer young and the part of your life that really matters is over. It is slow and steady downhill decline from here.Thats not the entire reason, its just used a simple explanation for people to kinda get the gist of it. Video games are outworldy more fun, texting with a girl is beyond brain chemical rushing, music like mdma, traveling is magical, everything hits harder because your brain regions still are more fluid and your prefrontal cortex hasn't developed well. Being an adult all the the previous things are nowhere near as special, but this is sadly intended evolutionary so you can start raising a family with a fully rational soon to be father brain
@Sopdu
Even at 19 life is much less exciting than it was when you were a child and your imagination and sense of wonder was powerful and running wild. I’m guessing the underdeveloped prefrontal cortex is responsible for this? You’re going to of course have much less tasks to deal with and expectations placed on you.Thats not the entire reason, its just used a simple explanation for people to kinda get the gist of it.
