Just another reason to keep to bodybuilding and avoid lifting for max strength. No reason to risk this for physique goals.

I’ve swapped out barbell bench pressing completely with dumbbell pressing it just feels more right tbh
Joints would always feel like shit after barbell press

No point in ever benching more than 315 or so. You will strength mog 99.9999% of men with that. Hell, a 225 bench strength mogs 90%.

I like dumbbell press a lot, gonna try to work those in more but typically I'm using the bench press machine and doing pec flys till failure.

I think flat bench is safe as long as you keep the reps medium to high (8-15)

With that being said, most people aren't training their upper pecs enough. Doing incline bench + chest press + pec dec is awesome for building an aesthetic chest with basically zero risk compared to flat bench.

a man should be more fixated on the results than the weight anyway. if the weight feels uncomfortable put it down and drop weight.

He is a strength athlete the whole point is to go as far as physically possible, he was just unlucky
