it only made us worse at thinking because it fried our dopamine system. if social media didn't exist and internet was only available to gain valuable information i think it would be extremely useful.

I think it's more than just dopamine. The internet itself isn't the problem, it's how people use it. If social media didn't exist and people mainly used the internet to learn, research stuff, and read discussions, I think it would make people smarter instead of making everyone's attention span worse

It increased the thinking ability of some and decreased it for others.

It’s like ipad kids. Some of them will turn into brainrotted cocomelon tiktok zombies, others will be using it to study advanced math and make videogame mods at an even earlier age.

Same goes for AI. Some will develop AI psychosis, others will use it to build tools that make careers obsolete.
