Honestly, whats the appeal of new school/mumble rap

Not to say there aren't quality rappers from the new school. But the mumble rap, and the same recycled phrases really never said me anything. The beats has obviously improved, but content/lyrics will always be the main criteria of good rap. Do you think its because people have been dumbed down? 90s rap will always be superior. Objectively, dont give me the "oh its art, therefore you can't say it isn't good". Like would these two songs ever compare as an example in terms of content etc.
