Horrible Overbite Fixes

I’m gonna book an appointment with ortho. My overbite is fucking horrendous not to mention the fact that I have bruxism which makes it 2x worse. My teeth are hollow. What can I get to fix this without being recessed?

I got braces when i was 11 and got them removed at 15.

My features actually improved, i didnt experience any recessions whatsoever. But i dont know if this is because of my braces or i was just going through puberty

More than likely your ortho will put elastics on your top and bottom teeth, which pulls your front teeth back and bottom teeth forward. It can recess your maxilla a little since you’re young. I heard the herbst appliance is a much better alternative so you can research that and ask for it.

I fucking hate orthos and ill never go to one
Id rather get a surgery than let some psycho ortho nigger recess my face even a bit

I’m hearing I should get damon braces and avoid extraction, what are we thinking?

Go to a good orthodonist, if all they want to do is extract teeth when there are other alternatives they are not a good orthodonist. My orthodonist wanted to extract 2 upper teeth to "fix" my overbite, so glad i said no even back when i was 16 and had basicly no idea what a maxilla was lol.

I switched orthos last year and the new one wanted me to get jaw surgery to fix overbite + bite misalignment. I had it 3 days ago now and i cant lie recovery has been horrible, its not really painful cause im constantly on painkillers but super uncomfortable like a pressure on ur jaws constantly especially when you sleep, but its starting to swell down and my jaw already looks 100x better than when i was jutting to try to make it look normal.

I highly recommend u look into surgery if its appropriate. Best part was that the was completely free.

Ortho thankfully said no extractions but he doesnt offer damon braces which I hear are much better than elastic braces. So far, this ortho is good so idk if i should take my chances looking for another one that offers that bracket type.
