Get a true mirror so you can see yourself in motion. That is the closest to what you look irl.

I think the problem is that you're used to see yourself in a certain way, and now you see yourself in a new way you never saw before, i don't take pics and don't look at myself in the mirror that often so i just looked another kind of ugly in the flipped selfie.

It's accurate, but your feeling of it being dramatically worse isn't accurate. You're just conditioned to seeing yourself one way so it causes uncanny feeling. I purposefully only looked at myself flipped for a while and then I got used to it and it didn't seem worse anymore. In actuality what then happened was my normal nonflipped image looked worse to me suddenly, when before I thought it was way better so I wrote it off as a psychological trick.

imo selfies at a slight distance are more accurate due to lens distortion. Especially with shitty selfie camera quality difference. I find seeing others in a mirror selfie is normally the most accurate image of how I view them irl so I'd flip a mirror selfie if you want a good idea of what you look like genuinely albeit with fairly ideal lighting. Even better a flip a video of yourself, in motion shows your mannerisms and such which makes a pretty big impact imo. Stills you can kinda accidentally fraud. Being an aspie and watching videos of myself helped me learn what I did with my face that came off awkward.

Many things are like that. I suppose humans are animals of habit. There're shit loads of tests that rely on something like this, but in fact are purely a habit that you can override really quickly. Like for example putting your hands together with intertwined fingers, supposedly one hand thumb "feels" more natural to be on top over the other, but in reality you can consciously overcome it over time and now all of a sudden the other hand thumb seems more natural to be on top.
Op don't worry. You could literally flip your vision upside down, i.e. through special glasses and your brains would adapt in a few days.

How do you cope with asymmetries? I literally fraud away every single picture I take, so that they're less visible...
