TL;DR: Fashionmaxxing is all about using the halo effect to prescribe qualities you want people to prescribe to you.

The same goes with tattoos.

This “signalling theory” can also be used to signal things like affiliations and subcultures.

Outfit elements:
  • Colour and colour harmony
  • Texture
  • Layering
  • Outline/Form/Shape
  • Pattern or Motif
  • Proportions
  • Label or Brand
Still confused? Write down on a piece of paper adjectives you want people to prescribe to you.

For example:
  • Polished
  • Professional
  • Extroverted
  • Modelesque (yes it’s a word).
  • Mysterious
  • Cold
Then ask yourself how do I express these qualities in the things I wear. For example I would do the following:
  • Stay away from warm colours or bright shades, instead dress in dark blues, blacks, greys and tinted whites.
  • Dress in a formal style of fashion by staying away from branded or complex garments.
  • Stay away from jeans, tracksuits and trainers and backpacks.
  • Prioritise garments that you can iron well to give a brand new aesthetic too.
  • Minimal or few layers.
Etc.

Any questions you can ask them down below and I will answer them.

Its all about proportions. If clothing isnt clowney and fits u good u okay. Tall, jacked, attractive automatically stylish and fashionable

Proportions are indeed very important. I will add this too the OP.

your guide is useless its too short to be useful and too complicated to be simple.
Warmer colors look better on people with warmer skin undertones . Its opposite with cooller skin undertones.

What are your thoughts on 4 seasons theory / Armochromy?
What makes a good quality tattoo, is it a matter of subject or position?
What are your thoughts on shoes, which ones should one avoid wearing?
What do you think about jewellery on guys, like rings and earrings?

The length of a thread doesn't necessarily equate to the quality of the ideas presented. I have cut a lot of it out since most users on this forum have shortened attention spans.

For example:

  • Extroverted
  • Modelesque (yes it’s a word).
  • Mysterious
  • Cold

This is a hypothetical example. You're supposed to adapt your fashion sense to what you want to signal to other people.

My answer for all 4 of those questions: It's up to you to decide.

But my personal opinion based on how I would dress is:

I like the idea of dressing seasonally however I would never accentuate overtly. I would use seasonal colours in my outfits subtly since that would be appropriate to my style.

With tattoos I hate it when people say "tattoos have to have meaning to you" since people always come up with dumb tattoo ideas. Instead you should rephrase the question to ask "what do you want to show people that you can't say".

Personally I prefer shoes that provide lots of mobility and won't slow me down. But lke I said before I don't want to recommend what you should and shouldn't wear.

I like jewellery but you should wear too much of it.

Also instead of buying your clothes in huge hauls you should build up your wardrobe piece by piece, week by week so you get used to clothes you wear without wasting money.

good thread, if you added example pictures for adjectives would be good
