How are malocclusions formed?

It really fascinates me,

i see underdeveloped skinny teenagers with weak masseters, recessed maxilla and chin, no bone mass and they have perfect teeth with no orthodontic intervention.

How are crooked teeth developed?

the human jaw shrank when we switched to agriculture, but we still have the genes to grow additional teeth, although not everyone has them (some people only grow 2 or no wisdom teeth, or even an uneven number), back in the day you'd usually lose a molar or two by adulthood so the wisdom teeth would have space, it's not like hunter gathers died with all their teeth intact.
