If you have your own LLC and have income as a business/contractor then writing tax deductions becomes an art. I worked as a software contractor for a bit and was able to deduct stuff like AirPods and anything related to computers. You can't minimize taxes as an employee other than contributing to Roth IRA if you're in US or TFSA if you're in Canada.
