How are young people supposed to be expected to build relationships and families if we can’t even afford to move out of our parents’ homes?

You can't live and love in survival mode.

Old people turned the housing market into investment vehicles. There should have been laws enshrined in order to prevent using property as investment vehicles. That is the reason why populations in developed nations are collapsing.

Can’t have sex in mommy and daddy’s house. No sex means no healthy relationship. Even if we sneak sex here and there, there’s no love in it because there’s no serious prospect of being able to raise a family in parents’ homes. Lawmakers are so stupid.
