Or can i begin tazarotene 0.045% as my first time on retinoids?

How much harsher or irritating is it compared to tret 0.025% or 0.05%?

Taz is superior in almost every metric but having tret wouldnt set you back YEARS

Taz actually isn't as irritating as tret because it's more selective in the receptors that it targets. I started tret 3 weeks ago and my skin is already back to normal. Just start out with appying a PEA SIZED amount (yes, for your whole face) every 3 days, then after 2 weeks go up to every other day and after like 8 weeks you can go up to daily. It's not as bad as people make it really.

You’ll be fine just use sunscreen so you don’t burn
