Getting Braces could recess your Chin now how does this make sense?

Depending if YOU have Overbite or Underbite

There are 2 Types of Overbite
Overbite or Deep Overbite.

Let's start with Overbite.
Overbites is when your Lower jaw Is behind your upper jaw. Braces are Applied on your lower jaw With rubber bands that push you jaw forward. But it might be needed to PUSH your jaw Even more behind so your Upper teeth Won't touch your lower braces. Making your jaw even more behind.

Now let's get to Deep overbite Or Deep bite

Its called Deep bite When your Upper jaw is Over your Lower jaw. Now you could also have Deep bite and Overbite, this makes your Chin look shorter and make you recessed.

CONCLUSION
Braces first push your Lower jaw Behind making your chin more behind. Also if Done unprofessionally Could make your Maxilla Recessed. This happens when they push Maxilla behind to match your Lower jaw.
