Marxism, communism, socialism etc. only appeal to unremarkable people who are insecure about themselves. They hate capitalism because capitalism rewards exceptional people so it makes sense that they usually gravitate towards marxism because, under marxism, exceptional people are oppressed which subsequently makes unremarkable people feel less inferior.

It's usually a bunch of young people coming out of uni, they want certain things in life, they find life a lot more difficult than they thought it would be, they're angry at the world and they have a lot of envy towards exceptional people so they turn to socialism/marxism.

Funnily enough, though, most people start off as socialists/Marxists when they are young, by the time they are middle-aged, they usually go in the opposite direction and they start to embrace capitalism and conservatism. Peter Hitchens is a good example of this because he lived in the Soviet Union for a bit and realized that socialism/marxism isn't all it was cracked up to be.
It's easy to get indoctrinated by Marxist propaganda as a student in the West but once you move to an actual socialist/Marxist society, everyone will realize that it sucks and doesn't work.

Karl Marx himself was a social conservative, Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc was socially conservative too, it was the capitalist Western bloc who had sexual degeneracy, Western "socialism" is just capitalism in disguise and harms the low class people.
