Back when I was a kid it was self-evident to me because we studied it in school along with math, physics, chemistry, etc., so it was obvious it's real otherwise they wouldn't put it there with all the other school subjects, right....?

Chemistry and physcis are all not self evident otherwise we wouldnt need to find or study things

Everything we studied in school was considered real and the truth, asking too many questions or having doubts about it, would have simply made you look like a clown and idiot, you were just supposed to learn and memorize that stuff, because people much smarter than you figured it out before.

Something can be real and true and be impossible to understand or easy to understand

Maybe, but back then, when I was a kid, Christianity was seen by everyone as real and evident, no one dared to question it or have any doubts, I remember that I had problems even understanding the concept of "faith" - I mean it means to believe, but how can you even "not believe", when everything seemed so obvious, I accepted Christianity just as I accepted the other stuff taught in school - math, physics, history, geography, etc. - no one asked you to have faith or believe in those, they were in the books, so they were very real.

Some apologists have answered this by saying that Christianity is universal not in the most literal sense but through it's teachings, and human experiences.

The things the bible teaches are true. Murder is wrong. Treat others with kindness. Love thy enemy, etc. Through human experience, when we pray or hope for something we often think about something external, a force of good, like a God to help us. Even as an atheist you "hope" for things will happen and you believe in little things like "luck" will help you or something like that.

I don’t care about this but you should kill yourself

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Roman 1 20

that's not the basis of the bible, that's judaism

the basis of christianity is accepting that jesus is the son of god who died to save everybody

the values and morals were jewish
