How can I learn to make and sell clothes to fund my plastic surgery?
I’m trying to learn how to start a small clothing brand from scratch and eventually use the profits to help pay for plastic surgery.
I have little to no experience making clothes, designing garments, sourcing materials, manufacturing, or selling online. I’m willing to learn everything from the ground up.
For those of you who have experience with clothing brands, fashion, sewing, streetwear, or e-commerce:
Where should a complete beginner start?
Should I learn sewing/pattern making, or start with blanks and custom designs?
What affordable equipment would I actually need?
How do I find reliable manufacturers or suppliers?
How much money should I realistically expect to spend to make my first small batch?
What platforms are best for selling—Shopify, TikTok Shop, Depop, Etsy, etc.?
How would you recommend marketing a new clothing brand with little/no following?
What mistakes should I avoid?
Are there any free courses, YouTube channels, books, or communities you recommend?
My goal isn't to get rich overnight. I want to develop an actual skill and build something that can eventually generate meaningful income.
