What I did is just joined random discord calls and asked questions (I recommend reading the book how to win friends and influence ppl or watching a summary of it on yt if u have literal 0 social skills) , it might be easier to join a call about an interest you have or a game you play but I did this for a long time and over time it helped with social skills, the Social anxiety will always be there but once you get used to it or once you get into a conversation it'll be fine but you gotta start talking to ppl and stop being afraid of being awkward or wtv is stopping you from doing it

You read it but have you practiced what was recommended in the book hundreds of times? watch a summary and try to talking to as much people as possible because it's what helped me the most when I was a literal isolationist and had 0 social awareness or interaction, Social skills needs to be practiced

Sure the most important step is starting, if you go the discord route make sure to join big socialize servers (there on the explore page) and start by joining small vcs and ask questions start doing various stuff that the book recommends and overall time it'll get easier and you'll have more confident trust me, practice is key!
