How can I persuade my orthodontist in agreeing on a palate expander?

I seriously need help, I want my midface to look broader, but he keeps on saying my palate isn’t narrow, and keep saying the maxilla’s growth spurt ends at 14, so if I can persuade him I would be more than grateful.

Well I don’t know I told my tongue doesn’t fit on one side on the palate unlike the other side (I’m sure it’s asymmetrical) he told me just not to rest my tongue on it. I’m pretty sure he’s wrong

You’re sort of on the borderline of needing them. I’d say if you got them you definitely wouldn’t see any negative results. I don’t think an orthodontist would prescribe expanders to you because your palate is fairly okay already. Can you fit both thumbs side by side on the roof of your mouth? But yh definitely they would benefit you noticeably you just might need to find a blackpilled orthodontist or sort them out online cuz ur palate doesn’t actually need them

Yeah I can fit my thumbs on both sides, but it’s obviously asymmetrical. He already put braces last week so I just need the expander, so how can I persuade him do you have any research or proof that palate expanders work at > 14 he said the maxilla doesn’t change above that which is obviously lies, if you have any research I can show me please do I would be more than thankful

He just said show me search it works after the age of 14 and it improves looks, I’ll try going to another one but he already put braces for me last week so I would rather stick with this one but with a expander. Do you have any research I can show him?
