How can I relate to women through hobbies,games and life

Normally when I’m talking to a girl on a rare occasion that I’m interested to we talk about our likes, i start off by asking her “oh do you play any sports” she gives me a normal answer like volleyball then she asks me the same and I reply with say basketball but then after that it becomes awkward and dull. I often ask if they have any hobbies and it’s say painting or drawing but then they ask me and something inside me tells me not to say I play video games cs that’s all I do and I find it so embarrassing and I end up freezing up and saying nothing.

Will women get turned off when I say one of my hobbies is gaming?
