People love to reject religion using surface-level arguments they barely understand. Questions like “who created God?” These questions aren’t groundbreaking, they’ve been discussed and debunked for centuries by people far more educated on the topic.

So if you sit here and actively reject God with your stupid arguments, you’re most likely a retard (jk, jfl). But seriously, you have 0 knowledge on a topic so big and expect to be smarter then people who have studied religion for centuries (who are still believing in God)

My best argument “why you should believe”

1. It’s the best copefuel you will ever get. Just knowing that God will handle everything for you when bad stuff happens in your life, and that it was already planned by him.

"who created God?"

How is this debunked, I mean no one probably created him, but it's not like we have a definitive answer.

I reject god because Christians and Jews and Muslims chop the end of their dick off

So they must be pretty dumb

You need to understand when something exits outside of time meaning they are essentially infinite, they have no beginning nor end. Something that is infinite was always there and never created unlike our 13.8 billion year old universe. It’s basically a concept outside our dimensional norms which is why it doesn’t make sense until you really think about it

So many fallacies in this one statement it’s insane. Hasty generalization, ad hominem, genetic fallacy and overall just a non sequitur

why god kill kids
God isn’t a fairy god parent lol he made natural laws that all organisms have to follow and death is one one them, kids die but God isn’t responsible

Gravity is a theory btw you can make concepts like this (gravity, infinite and not created) based on natural observations and inferences found in our universe

im fine with believing in a god but theres no way a single religion is true because there is nothing that makes them absolutely guaranteed without a doubt to be divine
imagine if any of the abrahamic texts somehow mentioned the native americans or the dinosaurs or the age of the universe or wtv

Gravity as a phenomenon = fact
Gravity as an explanation = theory

God as a phenomenon = Unknown
God as an explanation = theory

Rejecting Religion ≠ Rejecting God

holy brainless fucking idiot

It’s a category error question, by definition God is necessary and uncreated

Religion is a waste of time if it isn’t for a profit.
Not necessarily, if you have time to read into philosophy and metaphysics believing in a God or a specific religion doesn’t seem too far off

Why would Jesus turning water to wine have any affect on tomorrow’s outcome? It is irreverent just like everything else religion offers.

Why can’t the universe or some underlying reality be necessary instead?

This is a generalization you retard, you can argue that it's a bad generalization but that is another topic. Most who believe in a mainstream religion believe in god.

I don't know which God you believe in, but the Christian God, in our framework, respects our free will, He does know everything to come, but He doesn't "plan" evil or sin.

We're not determinists, as Christians.

"God created us without us: but he did not will to save us without us." - St. Augustine

Why can’t the universe or some underlying reality be necessary instead?
Because the Universe cannot create something this complex

What’s the point in doing allat. Im going to hell either ways

I’m personally not Christian but I’m pretty sure he did that to reveal to the people around him

logically they are not identical, But what I said was clear in that most mainstream theistic religions, where god is the center of everything so for example: criticizing god would be a direct criticism on that religion. Your point is just "sky is blue" which is true but is too narrow, not adding anything to this discussion and could just make this a dead end

Circumcision has always been viewed negatively by Christians.

It was only recently (among some American protestants in the 19 century) that circumcision started happening, and it is still seen as taboo by most Orthodox/Catholic Christians.

wasn't it done to jesus christ?

if he is all loving why does he let kids be slaughtered when he could intervene

No religioncels can answer on who created God? Muuuh it's a wrong question brooooo give me easy questions broooo

yes, but continuing circumcision is viewed as taboo since it seems to imply that the old Jewish covenant has not been fulfilled.

St Paul writes in Galatians (part of the bible) that preaching circumcision undermines the Gospel, and jokes that those preaching circumcision should cut their whole dick off.

"Brothers and sisters, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished. As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!"
-Galatians 5:11-12

We got free will give by God who likes to keep his word so if he constantly intervenes that’s making the free will not apply. Natural laws require stability, God can’t just break natural laws he created(likes to keep his word) to save every single person every single time. And besides if you ask this Austin you need to approach it Gods perspective, which you can’t because we only see a tiny part of reality while God knows everything, sees everything, and sees the full picture. These are just a couple
