How can you tell if you've got a recessed maxilla?

I have quite strong nasolabial folds and a (very) well defined philtrum. My upper lip is at a 90 degree angle with my nose when viewed in side profile, and cheeks kinda sunken. What are some more signs that my maxilla would be recessed?

my nose looks pretty straight so wouldn't advancing my maxilla flare my nose out?

My maxilla is similar to the first picture but my mandible is better than the second and I have no underbite.. I don't get how it works.
