How come at one point in history height wasn’t a key factor how powerful you were, but now in modern society height is like everything?

:lul: I’m coping because I’m 5’8

Nowadays, society is superficial and transactional. People cope and lie that height, looks, size, money and status don't matter and that it's the personality and the quality of your character that matter, but those are things if the past. People are virtue signaling when they say those things, they don't actually believe it. They say it to avoid hurting your emotions and be targets of social exclusion.

You will never find someone in the modern socio-economic landscape, who cares about you because of your personality and character quality, not because of what you have and what you can offer.

Excessive height isn’t necessarily advantageous in terms of longevity, athleticism, or general survivability.
In fact, taller men may be less efficient due to increased energy demands.
A more balanced but still robust male physique, within the upper range of normal height, actually offers a more favourable balance of survival traits.

However, in modern wealthy societies, these functional factors become less relevant.
Social factors and particularly perceived status take on a larger role.
For instance, a woman choosing an exceptionally tall man can be seen as making an objective „high-status choice“, which can lead to respect and even envy within her social circle.
It’s basically portrayed as an objectively superior trait in modern society and men who reside significantly outside this „ideal“ range, will be on the receiving end of several subtle insults.
