Quick thought. As time goes on people's attention span gets shorter and needs more extreme attention grabbing methods.
On this competition to grab eyes people will use more degenerate things to grab people's attention. Sex, greed, exotic or the highly unexpected.
At some point only degeneracy will thrive in social media, since people won't be interested in the more conventional stuff.
If you open the trending videos on TikTok or Instagram 5 years ago they were very bland compared to nowadays.
Nowadays you got high end 3D, AI mindfuck videos, lots of tits, ass or almost nude, thousands of get rich quick schemes, etc.
Degeneracy and extreme content is escalating quickly specially among the young. I feel it's really noticeable in social media, but it's definetely a result of an overall cultural shift in society.
