Only relatively recently have people been realizing the importance of facial attractiveness.
I didn't pay much attention to it until around my late 30s.
But there has always been a desire to recruit such people. Actors, news anchors, models. For decades they've all been mostly hot.
Their casting directors must have had hard knowledge of looks theory well before anyone else. There's no way they did their jobs by heuristic alone.
