the ones who don’t speak english, grew up on spanish as their native tongue. i was at mcdonalds with a user of black descendant here and saw a sheboon with 4 kids and assumed they were speaking something like afrikaans or some african dialect, but to my surprise they weren’t when i asked said user i was with what language they were speaking. such a rare phenomenon, you don’t see a lot of that here since it’s mainly just haitians these days. just something to think about, there’s an entire lineage of black people who grew up fully raised on spanish culture

dominicans aren’t fully black, they still have bits of indigenous and spanish in them. some do pass off as black but they still really aren’t. it’s a mix of afro latino in them, not really ‘black’

the blacks of the spanish i’m talking about are mainly composed of ‘black features.’ broad nose, kinky hair, darker skin, etc. not really dominican even though both can get mistaken for each other sometimes. obviously not caribbean latinos nor did they look to have a shred of spanish in them, they looked like west africans speaking spanish
