How do Dutch ppl speak English so well?

Most Europeans in general speak English very well but for some reason in the Netherlands they barely have an accent

I was in Amsterdam and everyone just sounds American

Dutch is closer to English than the other European languages that you have heard

Dutch language in general sounds like an American who learned German off duo lingo and is trying to speak it

Maybe that’s why they speak English so well cause they don’t need to change their accent

Tho German is my second language even tho I speak very well idk if a native speaker would understand more
