Imma be straight up with this.
im 17, 18 in 2 months and 183cm (around 6ft)
my brother 13 is 192cm.
mom is 185cm dad is 198cm.
what could have happened to me?
i did some fuckass diy growth plate check to see if im still growing and as it turns out i may have like an extra 2cm or so in me, but that is absurd taken into consideration that "you are suppised to outgrow your dad, especially your mom" or smn like that.
now for the question, how is it possible that we share the same parents and have vastly different heights? i was skinny asf growing up at like 7%bf (not speaking out my ass we did measurements in school and they were roughly around 7±% between ages 14-17)
and my brother was obese like fr.
ultimately im tryna find out if there could have been something i could have done different or is it just some genetics bs, either way imma fraud just wanna rest my consience.
i appreciate every response, and i will mark them as solution if they provide valid info.

Height is polygenic, meaning it is influenced by thousands of genes, tall parent does not equal tall child but it does have a strong correlation. You inherit a random combination of genes from both parents, including genes from grandparents and earlier ancestors.

There's a shit ton of variance because height is polygenic which is like 700 different genes contributing to this, but it's basically a chance thing.

Your environment definitely determines more than most realize, being lean is most likely going to get you hitting puberty faster which can actually close plates sooner which obesity does the opposite of with sometimes delaying plate ossification meaning your brother has more time to stay unfused raising the chances of gaining extra cm's.

Also outgrowing your parents isn't really the reality since environment and nutrition plus many other hormonal or sickness type contexts play into this so really it's just about understanding what you can enhance during puberty to raise the chances of hitting your genetic expression ceiling(y)

Basically how two NT's can give birth to a ND child

It could be a combination of genetics and malnutrition . BUT , dont base your height on some DIY checks.Just go get an X-Ray scan (say that your wrist hurts). You could grow more.
