Look into myofunctional habits, your plates and palate suture are probably not closed yet so master nasal breather and proper tongue posture and chew harder foods to put forward pressure on the maxilla, DM me I can help

discuss palatal width with your ortho and see if your palate size is narrow if it is they can go through with MSE to expand it which will improve your mid face aesthetics and widen the smile and remove the need for braces possibly

Depends on how thier worn but i think you sacrifice more madible forward growth whilst slowing the forward growth in maxilla
