How do I compete with tall kid

So basically, I’m going on holidays and we are meeting a couple of family friends. There is a decent looking girl there and it would fuel my ego if she was attracted to me. We are both 17 but the problem lies in a tall 14 yr old. I’m 5’10 and he’s prolly 6ft, this is going to put the girl off beacause she will think “why is this lil kid taller than him, lowering my value in her eyes.

How do I cope?
