How do I correctly measure my Cephalic Index (CI)

I am trying to measure my Cephalic Index, and I am getting two wildly different numbers. When I use the widest part at the top of my head, I get 77.2 (where it flares out), but when I lower the calipers to the widest part lower at my head, right around the bony bump just above my ears, I get 81.2.
