How do I find the best hairstyle for me thick brown straight medium length hair

My hair is genuinely so chopped, it’s not too bad when I actually style it and do a messy slick back type thing, but that only works when I style. Normally I’ll just leave my hair naturally and it falls on my forehead looks like shit. Really need to fix ts cuz im getting nerfed hard
