How do I get my bimax covered by insurance?

I’m pretty sure I have sleep apnea and will likely be diagnosed. I’ve read that if you have sleep apnea, insurance will cover bimax for you. How do I go about doing this? What is the process? Does anybody have any personal stories?

This may change based on where you live (this is how it seemed to work for me), you will first need to have the insurance for however long before you can make a claim, you will also need a sleep apnea diagnosis through a polysomnography. Then I assume you'd consult with a maxillofacial specialist and they'll say whether your jaw is the cause and possibly test and rule out other causes before going ahead with the surgery

first u gotta find out if bimax surgery is actually medically valid lol. Insurance companies generally cover procedures that are medically needed. You might need to provide papers from your ortho or oral surgeon that shows how the surgery will help w/ apnea, tmj, etc

also check with ur insurance company to find out if bimax is a covered benefit

ur insurance company may have specific requirements for bimax so that they actually cover it. Make sure you understand em and follow them to avoid having your claim fucked. This might include obtaining preauthorization from the insurance company or giving doc. of the medical nature of the reason u need bimax

pro tip: keep ur documentation and records and such. make sure you take care of it if u ever have to dispute shit

im not an expert on the process of getting bimax covered but remember that ur insurance wont cover a surgeon with an eye for aesthetics. it will be mainly functional so keep that in mind. I also dont know if there are different specific tests involved to get ur bimax medically validated so i dont wanna say more and then it be misinformation
