How do I get my hairs volume to go down

My hair puffs up an insane amount when it's dry
And it looks kinda frizzy even though I only use cold water to wash it and conditioner

I'm gonna try to do an egg mask for it to get it to lay flatter

Any other thing I can do to make it flatter?

The thing is that stage lasts not that long cause when it gets long than that it starts looking bad and I had to cut it
But I'm gonna grow it out again defo
