Looks like seborrheic dermatitis (obvious by the greasy yellowish flakes). Get a shampoo with 2% ketoconazole (an antifungal; gets rid of the fungus causing the issue) + salicylic acid (a keratolytic; removes the scale and gets rid of the flakes faster, but don’t overuse so you don’t dry your scalp). Use it 2-3x a week.

There isn’t a cure to it. You’re just stuck with it and have to use this products forever if you want it gone.

Mark as solution pls

Ciclopirox is equal or slightly better than ketoconazole, so yes

Clobetasol is great for inflammation short term but its efficacy drops if you use it continuously

Roflumilast is also great for inflammation, except you can use it long term

How is your stress levels? Also some say dairy can worsen seb derm but i never noticed (raw) milk making mine worse, just be wary of that.

Lol don't listen to that dude he has no clue about this. Stress is the biggest factor in causing seb derm flare ups and can make it 10x worse, same goes for diet. Also please use shampoo dude cause if you don't the seb derm will be ravaging your scalp. DON'T oil it, if you really want to tho you should use mct oil it's the only one that doesn't feed the fungus causing seb derm. I would also suggest seeing a dermatologist to determine what's causing this. Definitely looks like seb derm tho.

So shampoo with ketoconazole and use a seb derm friendly conditioner and/or mct oil. Avoid processed foods, pasteurized milk is fine btw. And the biggest thing is avoiding stress like the pest.

You said your whole family has luscious hair except you right? Seb derm can actually cause hair loss (telogen effluvium) because of constant inflammation and scratching. Luckily it's temporary and will grow back (if the inflammation hasn't been there for too long) once the seb derm is under control. Hope this helps bro.
