Im going to the dermatologist on 26 of february because of my horrible acne thats nerfing me. What are things I could say to get tretinoin cream perscribed? Im planing to say that the acne hurts and It doesnt go away for those who got it perscribed what did you say?

I doubt they will refuse to get you tretinoin bro, however I think most people will recommend you accutane if your acne is moderate to extreme

Depending on the severity of the acne, they may prescribe you doxycycline, which works but then acne comes back after coming off it (you gotta eat much less dairy on it too) or maybe even accutane if it’s real bad.

Isotretinoin is accutane right?

yes - honestly i recommend you get it prescribed by a doctor, don't diy it like some do

edit: you might need a sob story in order to get it, just say it's affecting self esteem. obviously it's dirt cheap getting it from india, but you do get your bloods done and monistored if going by doctors - in practice i think it makes zero difference, but dosing wise people are so fukking dumb, and sometimes a doctor/derm dosing you independently is just better. the people on here have zero iq.

also in terms of timelines - even if you went to get it in six months, it might be a few months before you can start.the first 2-3 months they usually will low dose you to test you reaction to it (in 99% it's just too low and not helpful) - probably at 20mg, and at that dose it's so low. then they'll up you to 40-60-80 etc. for a few months.
