How do I know if my skin is oily vs dehydrated?

I’ve been using the same dry skin products for the past 5 years under the assumption that my skin is dehydrated and my texture hasn’t improved one bit
 
My skin looks dull and lifeless in the morning but gets super greasy and nasty towards the end of the day
