I don't need it for social credit, validation, etc, but for my career. I'm not asking to get a girlfriend, chasing girls is so fucking jester and generally a massive waste of time, a humiliation ritual as well.
My dad--who has been my mentor my whole life--refuses to help me with internships, getting research, etc until I get a girlfriend. He expects me to "get one by the end of the semester" when I literally have no options, I'm an LTN, maybe LMTN at the absolute best below ~15-20% bodyfat (never been anything lower), starting to bloat rn because I am bulking, a manlet, AuDHD, etc.
I was talking to 2 girls (one was quite ugly so I dropped it quick), but they both kept talking about how one guy friend told them this, another guy friend said this, etc etc, which I don't mind as a friend ofc (even then ehhhh) but NEVER in an LTR, they do get along with guys better in friendly settings but a lot of these guys are friends just to vy for the poon as well.
The career path I want to get into requires a lot of effort starting very early on in uni, my dad is well aware of this but he wants me to have a social life. Every time I try to be social, smile, nice, etc, I am always shot down by normies for my ND mannerisms, major, etc. Not that I ever gave a shit about being around normies, I simply wanted to see how different social situations would be from my early schooling.
They visit every weekend for a few hours asw, but I need to pull this off so I can get my life in order, I am really not capable futrhtering my career on my own exceptionally well, I have no other real sources of advice/mentorship besides my family and the internet, etc like a lot of strivers have counseling, extensive groupchats and networks. Beyond that, he can get me a lot of nepo into this career path.
If you are still convinced that the majority of great careers and people were not pushed and helped by someone, whether it be through mentorship, nepotism, or just a lot of money, you are coping insanely hard (may make a thread on this soon). There is no such thing as a meritocracy anywhere (to my dismay) and I am simply trying to properly play the hand I've been dealt.
DNR: In order for my only mentor (my dad) to mentor me and further my life goals and career, I need to get a girlfriend, but I lack the facilities to do so normally, so I need advice on how to LARP it to my parents.
