went to ENT and complained that it was hard to breathe through nose during exercise, always waking up throughout night, never rested, and often wakeup mouth breathing. also mentioned I had been taking nasal spray for allergies/inflamation and it hadn't helped. THEN he checked my patient profile and found out I had a dustmite allergy which can cause inflamatio and then just prescribed some antihistamine spray and said come back in 4 months. What should I say next time to try to get surgery? Also might be worth mentioning i developed bumpy nose after premolar extractions at young age.

Son teeth extractions WILL rape your midface structure this is known 😭
right lmao i thought that was common knowledge, i had 4 premolars removed before i was old enough to understand the significance of it.

could be correlated because airway could have been effected due to extractions and if airway is narrow it justifies functional rhino right?

Read your own sources iqlet it never measured nasal or midface parameters only jaw and teeth angles

That's sick bro wish u luck
If I pursue a career in science I'm hoping to prove how the quality of childhood growth impacts physical features
Next gen will be our project chad

the study you cited is soft tissue changes only - not skeletal

in order for the OP's nose to be bumpy there would have to be a skeletal change

the study I cited says there is no skeletal change vertically from premolar extractions - in order for the nose to become bumpy is to lose bone - furthermore the nasal bone is separate and part of the basal maxilla - it won't be affected by the alveolar bone

there will be some small soft tissue changes relating to the nasiolabial angle but barely any skeletal changes

When soft tissue shifts occur after an upper tooth extraction they can still make the nose appear bumpier and accentuate existing nasal features. Even if there is no direct change to the nasal bone or cartilage, the changes in surrounding soft tissue alter facial proportions and how the nose relates to the lips and midface

A nose that was previously smooth and definitively not bumpy can appear otherwise after extraction. Small natural contours can become visually more pronounced creating the appearance of a bump where none appearingly existed before

the attempting to fix the allergy or polyps approach by doc means youre on your way to get the surgery
my doc also went with the same approach saying if it doesnt help shell do surgery but i believe i could easily make her do it right at that time with a little pressuring
