How do I make friends in UK college?

Going to UK college after this summer
Its the second year of high school for Americans but we start a new school over here and its 2 years long

How do I make friends cause I don't have any experience cause my secondary school friends are all friends from young
Stuff other than

Cause I'm already working on that so I need social stuff I can do

Ok first things first, you dont want to be socialising with any idiot, build your group with people who push you to be better than yourself, honestly in college youre prob only gonna be with them 2 years, uni friends it matters more.
Be with people who are intelligent and can help you there, people who you actually enjoy spending time with, and some bros you can be physical with, wrestle, spar, go to gym with.
How to get?
- Good starters, if youre in class with them, be social and go round getting peoples socials and/or numbers and say youre gonna make a class gc, from their you can filter who you actually want to talk to. So if you think someone is cool, just then privately message and ask about an assignment or homework as a convo starter.
- For the first group, go to societies or clubs, no its not nerdy, and honestly just say hi
- Second youve got to talk, introduce yourself, find common ground with someone.
- Lastly, you do boxing right? So hint at that somehow, like when youre initally filtering or talking in a group, just drop like 'ah yeah i gotta go boxing this lecture', then people who you might wanna hang with will be like 'yh thats cool, i do mma/wrestling etc' easy to take convos from there

Im in the same situation, starting a 6th form that no one from my secondary school is going to (thank god). Ill probably make friends from my classes im in.
