How do I make sure I can get a pallet expander

My teeth overlap each other on the bottom of my mouth and I’d say they ain’t the straightest plus my pallet is quite narrow , I tried getting braces 4 years ago but they said it wasn’t severe enough but recently I went to the dentist and he asked why I don’t have braces and that I should get rechecked, so I’m thinking I want to get a pallet expander to maybe help with my maxilla and give my jaw a wider look how can I make sure i get one with my circumstances?

a lot of things that qualify for a palate expander like crossbite and tongue scalloping are checkable, go for the ones that aren't really like snoring, breathing, and jaw pain
