How do I stop living in the past?

I keep imagining how different my life could have been in hs.

Maybe I could have been someone.
Maybe I could have joined sports.
Maybe I could have had friends.

But then I remember, it never happened. It never could have happened.

its hard to stop living in the past but one thing that helps me is to remember that no matter how much i dwell or regret on it, i cant change it and will never be able to change the past so i motivate myself to want to change my present life so my future self can be in a better place.
