How do I take a selfie with a resting expression without people saying I look soulless and dead eyed

Everytime I ask what's wrong with my face and what makes me look creepy, people just say it's because my eyes look dead and I'm expressionless, and that the reason the other two guys get rated higher is because they have a confident expression and look approachable
