How do I tell/convince my ortho to let me use a pallet expander.

I have a narrow pallet and not very defined check bones. Also I sometimes have to flare my nose to breathe since my air ways are clearly not the widest even tho my nose is decently wide. I would say for me getting a palate expander would definitely be beneficial but since truthfully I want it for aesthetic purposes I need to know how to convince my ortho I need it. Also dont got the money my self so need sound convincing to my parents as well.
