could absolutely be something else but cracking accounts usually works by spamming creds from a big data set into the login area until u get a hit. sometimes people will use data thats more local to their targetted site like for this one theyd do data from a breach from other forums. 2fa, ratelimits, not reusing passwords is what stops this.
