there really isn't one, you just have to distract yourself when the gross thoughts come. you can delude yourself with some grandiose rationalization about the nature of consciousness and how it was a joy just to have lived and other cringey self comforting copes but that's mostly emotional reasoning and doesn't work when you start feeling gross about dying

atheist copes about dying resemble mental masturbation like this:

how do you cope that you or your parents will die

Bro, my grandparents' parents died. Some of my grandparents are already dead. My parents are normal to be next, followed by me, and my kids and grandkids if I have any, etc. like that's life, wtf.. what do you expect?

We are just the sperm of our fathers put in a random womb and developed because our mom ate some stuff that grew out of the ground that grew because of nutrients from animal shit which was produced from plants or dead worms that ate the flesh off of dead bodies

That's called an ecosystem, did you do biology at school, or instead of paying attention you were on TikTok?

We come from the earth, and to the earth we return, like any living thing or plant. We are just here to experiment with this form under this species, eventually maybe be part of multiply the species and thus become more dominant in the food chain of this ecosystem, and then we go back..

We are part of something bigger than us as individuals, something we cannot control, whether..

we look like the guy on the left or the guy on the right

or do we look like the girl on the left or the girl on the right

There are no exceptions to what is about to happen to us all.. no one is more special than the other..

but you just say something terribly unfair happend to them

There are no ''fair'' or ''unfair'' things. Things just happen. My 74 years old grandmother died in her own home in the winter in her sleep from the cold because she drank alcohol and went to bed drunk, without having turned on the heat in her house..

A guy in early 20s just died an hour ago in India and the video of his death was posted on the internet, because he died walking down the street like any normal person, but he had the misfortune of a traffic accident happening a few dozen meters behind him, and a wheel coming from behind him at high speed crushed into the back of his head..

(meanwhile, a murderer reaches 100+ years of age after being released from prison after serving several decades)

Where is the fair/unfair, luck or bad luck in all this, or why would it matter? Like 200 years ago before modern medicine, life expectancy was like 30-40 years, and you could die from a simple cold. We have nothing guaranteed here, no minimum reference..

ow do you not kill your self

My parents brought me into the world here because they believed that a being with their combined genetics could enjoy a fairly high quality of life and life satisfaction + I have great potential and chances to carry the species forward, given that their genetic combination is quite attractive..

That's why they took me to kindergarten, to school, into society and around people, to have a job, to be able to have resources, networking, etc. instead of just staying home and watching cartoons or something 24/7, and to constantly depend on them

How could I commit suicide in this case? What is the meaning or what would I achieve with this? My parents invested so much in me, time and energy from their lives, for me to just do this?

lol..

u don't cope

u realize nature is brutal

nature will rape u

nature wants to destroy u

all the suffering you must go through in life just to die into nothing

and to know those who u loved, who perished before u, did too, and that u will never see them again, is cruel, and disgusting

nature is rape

u are the small dog

Everyone dies at some point. That’s just the nature of life. Also I don’t really want to live forever.

We tend to believe that our intelligence/consciousness gives us a pass, some immunity from the innate brutality that comes from life and living itself.

It only allows us to be aware of our pain and suffering, we cannot stop it. Sisyphus can't destroy the boulder, thus freeing himself.
